Private Music Lessons at Barnard Music
Our New Student Portal
We are currently transitioning lesson billing to our new Barnard Music Student Portal.
This system allows us to manage tuition more effectively while also providing students with access to lesson materials, videos, and resources as they are added over time.
How Billing Works
Weekly private lessons are billed as a recurring membership every four weeks.
Tuition is based on 44 instructional weeks per year, divided into 13 equal payments, which keeps billing predictable and consistent throughout the year.
Because our lesson roster stays full (or very close to full), rescheduling can be difficult. For that reason, tuition is calculated to include up to 8 absences per year.
Lessons canceled within 24 hours are counted as a used credit.
Lessons canceled with more than 24 hours’ notice will not be counted against your account, and we will make a reasonable effort to reschedule when possible.
Make-up lessons are typically scheduled during holiday or summer breaks, when we have more flexibility.
Billing is automatic and will continue every four weeks until the membership is canceled in accordance with studio policy.
This system replaces monthly invoices and avoids fluctuating charges from month to month.

Both memberships include the same access and resources — the only difference is the billing amount.
Our Green Membership is good for a 1/2-hour once weekly private lesson. Weekly private lessons are billed as a recurring membership every four weeks. Tuition is calculated based on 44 instructional weeks per year, divided into 13 equal payments, allowing for predictable billing and consistent instruction throughout the year.
